After being extremely nervous about meeting this Children's Ministry expert/highly recommended speaker/world traveler extraordinaire...I was VERY pleasantly surprised to discover how down-to-earth and truly real Melissa is! She is all that people have said previously about her and so much more. Her love for God and ministry just exudes from her!! Her training encouraged and blessed the Kids' Ministry Team at our church. I, personally, am halfway through a six month coaching with her, and never want it to end! Her ideas and relevant information is priceless. Much can be gleaned from this great Lady!! I highly recommend any kind of training with/from her.

We asked Melissa to come and speak at our Elementary Camp. She did a fantastic job. Our children enjoyed the story of Joseph, and Melissa shared it in a way that they could understand. She was able to communicate in such a way that adults could also be challenged by the Bible. She was also very good at treating our children with respect and deference. It is the evaluation that really helped us. She provided an objective analysis of our programming. She pointed out what we could do better, what was working for us, and some things we needed to discontinue. We are in the process, right now, of implementing and adjusting many of the suggestions she gave. We look forward to being blessed by her in the future, too.

We asked Melissa MacDonald to come to our church to do an evaluation of our Children’s Ministry. We are a small church and we are seeking to grow this aspect of our ministry. We have limited resources and teachers, and we really weren’t sure if this was something that could help us or not, but we ‘took the plunge’!
Melissa and her assistant worked hard to arrange a time and format that worked for our church. We were excited that she was able to join us on a Sunday morning to observe classes and the facility. She shared in the morning service about her ministry with the national office, but more importantly her heart for kids. Melissa is extremely passionate about what she does; she has a great burden for seeing kids saved and growing in the Lord! Her personality is infectious and it was a breath of fresh air to hear someone talk about Kids' Ministries in such a way!
We had a meeting with our workers around the lunch table after church, and Melissa shared her thoughts and insights. She was very encouraging, making sure to point out the positives, but she was very honest and helped us to see areas that needed to change or be improved. She was very informative about national standards for child safety, risks, etc. some of which we had not even heard before. We felt challenged and energized for a fresh season of reaching kids in our community.
Melissa promptly sent a written report as well, so that the governing board and elders could go over her suggestions as well. It was great to have a ‘new set of eyes’ looking at our facility coming from the perspective of a potential visitor with children. Her ideas were spot on, and we are thankful that she came; we would highly recommend her services to other churches!

Just to let you know that we are so thankful for the last visit of Melissa MacDonald to La Cumbre and CADES meeting on Nov.17th, and especially our conversation with her at “Gustitos Criollos” in Arecibo in company of Rafaél Peréz (Director Children Ministries C&M Alliance PR) and Leonardo Ayala (Children’s Ministries C&MA La Cumbre Church.) It was great to meet her. It was a blessing to talk about plans and perspectives for the future. I’ve noticed there is a common ground to work hand by hand next year seeking Lord’s will and joining plans and purposes. As Leonardo Ayala says in his letter, "Get in touch one to another and generate strong community to reach the 4/14 window."

Melissa did a fabulous job when she came and provided an evening of training for our Children’s Ministry volunteers! Originally, I had intended it to be for just the children’s volunteers, but she said it should be open to anyone: parents, grandparents, teachers, and youth workers. I especially loved her idea of very strongly encouraging the Senior Pastor to attend. After our Pastor attended, he was full of ideas and very willing to highlight Children’s Ministry! It was good to think about appealing to each different learning style of the kids that we teach. The process of discovering our own learning style was interesting and actually quite humorous. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the evening and the two hours flew by! I look forward to having her back at church when she is in the area again!
